Lafayette filmmaker and photographer Allison Bohl has a plethora of beautiful documentaries under her belt. Her newest, Tarzan: Lord of the Louisiana Jungle is a documentary film that explores the making of the 1918 silent film classic Tarzan of the Apes in Morgan City, Louisiana.

One of the best live shows by the best live band. For your Independence Day listening pleasure.
Listen closely between “You Are My Face” and “Company In My Back” and you will hear Gustavo and I shout Liz’s name.

Not sure what’s worse: the possibility of Jindal vetoing this, or the comments section of the article.

I know that the season ended fifteen minutes later in overtime, but I still get the chills watching this video.

Pitchfork: Archers of Loaf Announce Reissue... →
This is good news. I’ve been grousing for the past couple of years about how difficult it is to find the Archers’ work (of course, living in Canada for two years certainly didn’t make matters any easier). These reissues can’t come quickly enough.

We went and cooperated with Pakistan. They arrested him, actually, and turned him over to us, and he’s been in prison. Why can’t we work with...

At the risk of being one of those “Only in Louisiana!” people, I love that the fire captain feels the need to recall how strong the crawfish harvest was after the last flood, and I love even more how the Picayune journalist thought it warranted inclusion.

The World Will Not End if Common Visits the White... →
It amazes me—though maybe it shouldn’t—how musically-illiterate people can be. You do know that when Common says he wants to “burn a Bush,” he’s not speaking literally, right, Karl Rove?
